The brine is introduced from surface as part of the completions ops.(lost some circulation into the formation through the perforations). Slowed down the test time wise.
19th April
Shale instability around the cement has allowed formation water (above the shale seal) to leak down into the hydrocarbon sands.
Formation Integrity Tests would have been carried out on each casing shoe as they drilled (eventhough it was only mentioned in the report of 8th Dec2015 re 240mm casing). They were aware of the shale instability (cave ins) in the target zones and a thorough integrity test would have been called for. O.K. on the test but even over just a short time conditions can change. Another point here would be that conditions can change after a considerable time has elapsed i.e. right through production.
