Yes, there's a longer lead time to be certified. Its about 1.5 - 3 years depending on how much chemicals / antibiotics / growth hormones / etc you've used in your farming practices. That's why there's a slower lead time for BAL to achieve higher levels of supply .. where as A2.. requires testing and then segregating the milk from A1.
That said - Fonterra is encouraging farmers to go Organic because its higher profits for them and farmers and BAL has increased its price by 33% but still able to sell out all their supplies. (ie: shared profits all around).
