Bad news for WPL as the ACCC made the midstream industry a lot tougher for WPL now that the ACCC will regulate, APA will effectively become a monopoly and the geopolitical risk for foreign involvement and competitors such as WPL will leave APA the monopoly player in a top position with pipeline operation, transfer pricing and midstream players favored at the expense of upstream producers like WPL IMHO but pls DYOR.

If this ACCC decision is ratified, this decision and public policy pronouncement effectively will make APA a monopoly in midstream pipelines to the detriment of producers such as STO. APA will longer term have a much stronger position and will be rerated upwards to the complete detriment of WPL, STO and SXY.

APA will plunder monpoly profits under regulation, IFM will plunder other infrastructure assets elsewhere, WPL will sell its pipeline presumably to APA and no foreigner will go near midstream.

A fantastic bonanza for APA: As for the ACCC, while the Bob Hawke apparatchik Rod Sims is in the chair, the monopolies do better and now the ACCC has effectively created another one, APA in midstream to the detriment of WPL. ORG, STO and SXY.

It is actually really bad for consumers such as WPL, ORG, BHP, STO and SXY, fantastic for APA sholders.

Fools win, producers like WPL suffer. The fairness for which Hawke and now Sims as his former staffer were well-renowned.
