...probably right in reality. I was pinged a few months ago, I was doing one of my Sunday stints driving a semi trailer not a car...the road was wet and the trailer was empty. I saw the lights change, lifted my foot but changed my mind as the circumstances could easily have led to the trailer locking up and trying to overtake the prime mover.
What can happen is the axles will start to hop and you get a lot less braking...

As well in this particular case the prime mover was a late model with ABS, the fridge trailer probably 20 years old no ABS....empty weight about 18 tonnes. Contrary to popular belief 22 tyres on the road doesn't always improve braking.

I am going to fight this one as it was a wet road, I don't believe it was safe to try to stop...I estimate I would have needed at least 100 metres to pull up...that would have put me half way across the intersection.
I have returned the nice photograph and will definitely go to Court to contest the case.
