Actually , a big part of Labor's pitch is how much tax revenue is being diverted away because of negative gearing . Maybe you should read their policy before you comment . They like to highlight the incomes of those who are making the biggest claims and make sure that the public knows that they are higher than average earners .
So , if they are genuinely concerned about higher earning people getting tax ' advantages ' over those that earn less then the changes to negative gearing should apply to all circumstances .
