All the north east river valleys running north into the Murray are picturesque. The Mitta, Keiwa, Ovens and King rivers are all pretty. Mitta is the most remote and worth investigating but the road to Omeo is winding gravel with little scenery.

Keiwa valley is the access for Falls Creek.
These river valleys also provide access to 4WD trails and hiking access to the northern side of the Victorian Alps.
