This will have a far greater impact on startup green energy companies than it will for CWE. Without grants it is doubtful that CWE would have survived, in Australia at least.
Fortunately, CWE has gotten past the early proof of concept and development stage. It is now able to borrow to finance the next stage and beyond.
The new fund that replaces ARENA and CEFC will require projects to be commercially viable to repay the loans made. That will force companies overseas that have innovative ideas but are still in the high risk early stages.
