I am only going to make this observation for the time being - Monday will mark 4 complete weeks of CDC control, and one month since settlement occurred. The timing might then well be appropriate for a trading update as to how the CDC acquisition is performing. That is, some underlying trading /running information, being provided for the first time.
So, to my way of thinking, a possible trading update could occur soon, either:
* following completion of one month's post acquisition trading, or
* cumulative trading to end May, including one clear calendar month and upwards of 6 weeks overall.
This then could fit neatly into providing an outlook update heading into financial year end. As it is, they may very well have to do this in any event due to:
* the transformative nature of the acquisition and its impact on all financials;
* material change in financial outlook compared for example to the 1/2 year mark and to the F15 mark;
* comparison to the briefly noted profit outlook provided earlier this year on a pro forma basis although at the time, this referenced the F17 outlook.
Behind the scenes, comment and chatter (most prevalent on his board) would point to another one+ farm acquisition taking place soon. Underscoring this were references to this in the earlier Investor Presentations (the February one as well as in the H16 and market update reports), as well as in AR15 and as part of the May 2015 capital raising exercise. I therefore doubt that they are not doing anything, but rather are looking to ensure that everything is in place and extending this to building solid foundations forward which likely will unfold at a rapid pace going into the back half of 2016.
As always, this has been and remains a 2017 story in the making although even with upcoming new movies or TV series you usually either have trailers (movie), or previews /sneak peaks (TV) to tantalize the taste buds. The story is there - they presently are just not providing enough trailers or sneak peaks for us to all salivate over (likely, as alluded to above, because they are still in post-production, or finishing off on filming final scenes). But that's enough of the Hollywood analogies.
