    Cabcharge have been paying commissions to the radio depots from inception (ie late 70s early 80s), that is why their surcharge (10%) is so high. To coincide with the phasing out of the blue cabcharge vouchers with their new cabcharge e-ticket, they will be paying the taxi operator a 2% commission on all electronic transactions.

    The reason for this is two fold: 1) to discourage drivers/operators from factoring paper vouchers to third parties (or encourage them to use their eftpos system) and 2) to combat the threat from competitors eg Lime
