Really AJ? Gold not a currency? Billionaire Stan Druckenmiller, the world's best fund manager for the past 30 years by a long shot (30%pa) says straight out it is, and has put hundreds of millions into it in the past few months.
How about Greenspan? Remember him ... from PetG post just ahead: "Greenspan: Yes... Remember what we're looking at. Gold is a currency. It is still, by all evidence, a premier currency. No fiat currency, including the dollar, can match it."
The world's central banks aren't in the business of putting commodities into their reserves. Have they got barrels of oil? Corn, wheat, sugar, iron ore, coal, carrots?
Gold has been a currency for 5000 years. It's a bit rich to try to rewrite history now
