ASX Release 8 September 2006 HEARING OF CAZALY APPLICATION TO STAY RIO JV MINING LEASE APPLICATIONS AND AMEND OBJECTIONS TO INCLUDE PUBLIC INTEREST GROUNDS We confirm that on Friday 8 September 2006 the mining warden in Perth heard the applications by Cazaly Iron Pty Ltd (Cazaly): 1. to stay mining lease applications M46/437 to M46/440 by Hamersley Resources Limited, Hanc ock Prospecting Pty Limited and Wright Prospecting Pty Limited pending the outcome of the Supreme Court proceedings for judicial review of the Minister’s decision to terminate application E46/678; and 2. to amend Cazaly’s objections to mining lease applications M46/437 to M46/440 to raise public interest matters under section 111A of the Mining Act 1978 (WA).
