s, if you take some time to scrutinise a bunch of charts, you will find there are only a very small % of gaps (probably less than 1%) that do not close. Those are usually true runaway gaps which occur after a period of consolidation and then a gap up or down occurs on very high volume. The small gap you refer to is an inside gap and imo has a very high probability (I will never say 100%) that it will close.
