Just a tiny info piece.

Subaru has developed a Vanadium Lithium-ion battery for it's electric car G4e. The Vanadium in the battery allows 2 to 3 times more Lithium ions to be stored. Panasonic has been producing small Lithium-Vanadium batteries for years.

There is a tiny overlap in the grid battery market by Lithium and Vanadium. GE, for example, sold a Lithium-ion based 8 meg-hour grid scale storage battery system to Con-Edison Inc.

GE forecasted that by 2020 the storage market would grow to 6 billion dollar. It has now temporarily moved it's 400 storage staff to other operations as it expects that storage market is growing slower than expected. It has not, however, shut down it's storage section. It is buying batteries from OEM manufacturers and selling them to it's customers.
