He's not saying A2 has health benefits.; it's A1 that's potentially harmful. I've found a paper by Dohan who did decades of research into schizophrenia and diet that sounds interesting: "Schizophrenia: Are some food-derived polypeptides pathogenic?" I'm trying to see if a free copy is available. Also, an internet search tells me Reichelt, Shattock, and Cade discovered peptides in the urine of autistic children, resulting from incomplete breakdown of proteins in milk and wheat, who improved once these proteins were removed. I think the difficulty of establishing a causal link from this research might be that wheat proteins (gluten and gliadin) and casein are lumped together; it's hard to know which might be the culprit in autism. Anyway, I'll read up and get back to you. My own experience was simply to remove wheat, switch to goat's milk (I wasn't aware of A2 milk at the time) and drastically reduce sugar (including fruit). Hard to say which of these was a factor, maybe it was a combination, but the response was phenomenal.
