yes the September 2015 needs to be included as income in the 2016 tax returns but you were previously discussing prior year divdends and as mr dollar said in his post with prior year dividends they were either not taxable at all then changed to optional - and you would choose to take them up as assessable income depending on your tax bracket given the tax credits attached to them.
but appears that the sept 15 dividend is taxable no matter what - so it has changed again.
