Save the Bees Australia

Update
I’m holding a summons to appear at the Supreme Court of NSW. I was served with the summons affidavit and over 300 pages of exhibits.
I, Simon Mulvany, am being sued for defamation by Capilano Honey Limited and its CEO Ben McKee. I make no money from www.beethecure.com.au. All my posts are heart felt, most are a celebration. Bees are under stress environmentally some are being exploited for their honey and pollination this has resulted on colony’s collapsing around the world. The bee community and other environmentally conscious followers from the general community respond in the comments and the result is often an online forum where these issues are debated. The input comes from like minded people who share my concerns about bee welfare. Many are stakeholders in the industry, commercial beekeepers. Others consumers want the benefits of raw nutritious honey that hasn’t been heated. They didn’t know that Capilano ltd heated their honey, sell under many brands and use honey from China Mexico and Argentina. My small income comes from gardening. I’m also a primary carer Oscar 6 in the photo. I have saved and relocated over 160 colony’s of bees mostly for free and many that are left to be free rather than have honey harvested. Over winter I educate children. Some I have learnt have suffered from a syndrome that is caused by lack of nature. Their smiles and appreciation are my riches. I will continue to just make ends meet in a life I love: sharing my work with bees, enjoying time with my son, tending to the veggie patch and spending time with friends. Less is the new more. I am so proud of the honey map we as a bee community have created. The solution is beautiful: buying local, growing your own food and sharing.
Thank you for the continued support, particularly to many beekeepers contracted to capilano honey who have been feeding me information in regards to what they see as biosecurity risks for Australia. A lot of that information has been noted and I think has already sealed victory if Capilano choose to continue litigation.
This video tells the story.

Thanks to my pro bono legal team senior council Kieran Smark and solicitor Denis Fitzpatrick who like most Australians are not satisfied with the labelling laws. The new labelling laws advertised will still not require country of origin which is a disgrace.
We have seen how farmers in the dairy industry have been devastated by corporate dominance. Farmers have suicided.
The honey map I have produced with the help of you has been viewed over 30000 times its a beautiful solution.

If we support small and buy local Australian families and bees benefit.
Please don’t buy any capilano products including Allowrie until their products are labelled correctly and they cease litigation against my family.
This is a stressful situation for my family and friends. For me l think it’s a opportunity to teach our children how to stand up to bullies. It will also set a precedent for others who voice concerns about corporations on social media. In this case I think the truth went viral and I have to go to court for it because I have effected a company commercially. Capilano have a net worth of 169 million dollars.
Capiliano Ltd have launched an advertising blitz on social media and print please write to them and let them know your disappointment in their behaviour and urge them to mediate an outcome that can benefit Australian beekeeping families.
I welcome financial contributions for court costs endured and to get capilano honeys tested in Germany. There are Tshirts available and a donate button on the website . If you think you can be of direct assistance please email me [email protected] www.beethecure.com.au
Australian labs are limited.
Dear Simon
Thank you again for your query.
Unfortunately NMI does not have capability for analysis of Pyrrolzidine Alkaloids in honey.
I am not aware of an Australian lab who can test for them.
There are two specialist honey labs in Europe who can –
Eurofins Germany – www.eurofins.com/en/media-centre/newsletters/food-newsletter-nr43-november-2013/pyrrolizidine-alk…
And of course, Intertek Germany – www.intertek.com/food/testing/honey-analysis/
If you are interested in Antibiotics analysis as well, there is a Sydney lab who can test for these:
www.aaapl.com.au/
My only other suggestion would be contacting the chartered chemists at Sharp and Howells, 03 9850 9722.
I am sorry we cannot be of further assistance with this matter.
Jodie Goldsworthy Beechworth honey your company have directly benefited from the awareness I have created I am disappointed you haven’t contributed to this discussion.
BenMckee CEO of Capilano I look forward to discussing this situation with you next week.
If you need to buy honey it’s a great time to buy. Honey never goes off. John Edmonds and Ben’s Bees have honey available. Tell them I suggested you purchase of them.
John Edmonds. Address: 724 Torquay Rd., Mt DUNEED. 3216. Phone: 03 5264 1245.

Or use the honey map.

#Munuka Honey. Are you being Scammed
No one in Australia knows Manuka honey like Jeffery Gibbs Northern Light Beeswax Candles . Most beekeepers once despised jelly bush because the honey is nearly impossible to extract from the frames. The honey does not drip it congeals. Jeffery a former commercial beekeeper was one of the first to produce Manuka honey in Australia. He warns consumers that cheaper supermarket and chemist varieties is not the real thing. In this clip he shows what to look for when buying Manuka honey. Australia has over 90 leptospermum plants. It is very unusual for them to flower as a monoculture. In this clip you can see that proper Manuka does not crystallise it takes on shape like jelly, also in the light it show bubbles. Australia’s strongest Manuka should be made available to hospitals and nursing homes to fight infection. Manuka is best used topically it is both antibacterial and healing. If one is to consume honey make sure it’s raw and preferably local. Use the honey map goo.gl/5Av8vo.
Honey is good for gut health. New research from scientist Shona Blair uncovers prebiotic qualities Australian eucalyptus honey. This means regular consumption improves gut health. #Prebiotic foods stimulates the growth of gut bacteria that contribute to human health and reduce the growth of deleterious gut bacteria. Prebiotic foods are not digested by human enzymes, but reach the large intestine intact and act as a food source for beneficial bacteria including bifidobacteria and lactobacilli. Australian eucalypt honeys are natural, healthy and common foods that can now be viewed as products that can help improve gut health.
Gut microbiota is intrinsically linked to our metabolic health and a number of gastrointestinal diseases, such as inflammatory bowel disease, cancer, cardiovascular disease and obesity.
