I always model using the reporting currency, and I always use the companies financial reports as the basis of my models. I'm sure it would be quicker to use Morningstar or similar for historical analysis, but I find they don't have the detail I require (I like to have every line disclosed).
Unless you're making assumptions about future fx rates (which I don't believe many, if any can do, especially long range) you get to the same answer, no??
