We don't often see on TIG maps, the Yakutugol and Elga Coal deposits in Russia. These, in my view are TIG's main competitors, not Australia, Canadian or Indonesian Coal producers. They are a long train trip to Japan but the infrastructure (rail, washing plants) are in place and Elga Coking Coal is superb.
Their owners, Mechel, had a bit of a run in with Putin some time back but they are now money makers for Russia so all would be forgiven, I guess. I'd like to know where they sit on the cost curve wrt Project F.
