CNT concrete is still at the university research stage. It is nowhere near ready for mass production because there is nowhere near CNT to make it in commercial quantities.


IMO 15-20 years will be needed before CNT concrete can go mainstream.

Total MWCNT production is around 2000 tonnes pa. Any increase in demand would send prices through the roof.

One reactor makes about 2 tonne pa of CNT. To make a million tonnes would require over 500,000 reactors. The cost would be $50 BILLION at a very modest $100K per reactor.

To put things into perspective 2000 tonnes of CNT would make around 500,000 tonnes of CNT concrete. That is 0.01% of current global concrete demand (5 billion tnnes pa)
