You have to sense the real voodoo of Australian politics is the system of preference votes dealing by parties.
Does the electorate truly, truly understand the combinations & permutations their well meaning vote is washed through by the preferencing system, without knowing what political 'shore' their precious vote will land on?
Before anyone's vote is adulterated, the party should seek a written consent (not possible under the system ) to 'interpret their voter's vote' before they do so!
At corporate law, every proxy must be duly signed, and the shareholders explicit directives complied with to the "T", Anything else would be an actionable fraud.
Good for your company vote? No good for your country's vote!
