If GBP Sterling is expected to drop for Brexit, then there'd be plenty of people hoping it did the opposite for remaining. Either way, I'd expect that the uncertainty of the decision ahead is more responsible for volatility than either of the two possible outcomes. People always do strange things with their money when an important vote looms, I guess. It's people trying to anticipate the sentiment of people trying to anticipate the sentiment. Unfortunately, too many people are taking their sentiment from the news, which has fear-mongering headlines like the one that suggests a Brexit will make the end of Western Civilisation. I've always invested based on geopolitics and fundamentals only, so my view is that this will mean nothing come July. Bring on the BOAs!
