When I say I hope they market their product well. I don't mean the size of their budget. I'm more talking about how effective it is at improving sales. For example, a really low budget but interesting/funny/offensive advert can reach a HUGE audience just because it will be talked about and shared all over social media. It's sphere of influence would be huge.
If it's offensive or controversial - everyone will know and recognise the brand as those guys who pissed off a lot of people (recent racist laundry detergent ad). If it's funny/interesting, then everyone will talk about them as those guys who made an entertaining happy donut day ad (eg: Nissan).
I'm not a very creative person myself so I take nothing away from how difficult it is to design and execute an effective marketing campaign. But as with the rest of us, I can recognise an ad or marketing campaign which leaves me remembering or talking about a company or product.
As for $1 mil to earn 3000 conversions - that doesn't look too hot on paper - $333 per conversion - not the sort of thing to write home about. But I have faith that they've got bigger better things in store with promoting their product. I wouldnt hold otherwise. =)
