management quality and remuneration

VHL's recently released annual report states:

"The performance of the Company depends on the calibre and capacity of its Directors, Executives, Managers and staff and the ability to attract and retain such persons. The Company aims to base remuneration on the second top quartile of remuneration scales for companies comparable to Virax."

It is a pity that the Board and management is not composed of people of a similar quality to companies comparable to Virax. It makes little sense to pay people in the bottom 0.01% as if they were in the second top quartile.
