Wotton was CEO of Antares - when he started at the company it was struggling with a market capitalization of $27 million without a clear strategic plan. He left the company with a market capitalization of $375 million and a crystal clear business plan.  Wotton resigned from Antares and moved to Advanced Cell Technology (Ocata) as CEO.

Wotton was responsible for the $380m sale of Ocata (Wotton heavily invested) to Astellas (Japanese).
At Ocata Wotton worked closely with Ocata CSO Robert Lanza.

Who is Lanza?
Robert Lanza, M.D. is currently Head of Astellas Global Regenerative Medicine, and is Chief Scientific Officer of the Astellas Institute for Regenerative Medicine and Adjunct Professor at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. His current research focuses on stem cells and regenerative medicine and their potential to provide therapies for some of the world's most deadly and debilitating conditions.

Would Wotton join Cynata if he didn't believe in the Science? Of course not! Wotton is a clear entrepreneur, he heavily invested in Ocata - I believe he's yet to invest in Cynata due to restrictions of deal talks.
