Actually I tried that sign on method and opted out half way through. Found it better to start a blank Facebook account and then log in to Messenger the first time that way and then uninstall FB. Otherwise the Messenger setup was demanding to go through all my contacts and emails etc, which p*sses me off. But performance is way ahead of clunky Skype.
