Good points Jimmy,
Rightly or wrongly, when govts let the pendulum swing too far in one direction you get this kind of backlash vote. In the context of immigration issues, we see the rise of nationalist movements even in traditional countries that have shown much toleration over the decades (e.g Netherlands).
Who knows what implications this vote will have and whether other EU countries will follow England's lead given the pressure of losing control over borders.
