How do people interpret this part " the bid/ask spread for such assets had recently narrowed to a $5/barrel range."?
Spread usually means the difference between what the buyer and seller ask for, which is then negotiated to somewhere in the middle. So perhaps buyer bids $5/bbl and the seller asks $10/bbl and they find somewhere in between?
