Who knows....
Ben did say in his first update to us that he 'will be performing a review of all current POC trials' or something along those lines.... my theory is they existed but were half baked so no one wanted to use the software.... Clay was probably backed into a corner, had pressure from shareholders etc and didn't know how to turn things around so kept going along with the POC's are progressing facade until it all came too much and resigned....
I highly doubt they were simply made up....
On the positive Ben seems like someone that CAN turn things around and start from the ground up which he is doing.
