I think you are right, RJ, and in some case they don't actually sell - just put in big sell orders below the SP and then make small amendments if it looks as though they are nearing the top of the sell ramp. By making an amendment they then go to the bottom of the sell orders at that particular price. Of course they would have to watch carefully for quick drops in the selling price and sometimes they probably get caught out. However, buyers get reluctant to come in when they see high numbers on the sell side.
I'm not much of an expert re strategy, but I agree that there is some manipulation happening with this share.
