If you honestly believe than a modern Aussie election would ever be 62/38 2pp then you believe all the polls you wish.

And you've just been telling us what a great campaigner Abbot probably was. The 2013 reversal could indicate that - though it could also be that that Rudd totally stuffed up and people lost interest after he re-took the PMShip.
