I spoke to Brian today. He was busy with many phone calls coming in, presumably because of the s/p drama. The topics we discussed are bolded:

Patent News: Maybe later this year. Seems that there are no problems so far.

Competitors: No danger of even big players copying Resapp. No one is working on it, as per the prospectus. Competitors have two choices - takeover or start from scratch. Takeover much more likely. RAP is moving very quickly. No biotech company has ever progressed as fast as RAP (he should know because is WA chairman of AusBiotech, the association of biotechnology companies in Australia).

URTI Missing from Adult Results: That was the same as the first child results - URIT was reported later. Likewise, adult URTI will be reported when population is big enough.

FDS Approval/Us Hospital Delay: US hospital not delayed much. Signatures soon. FDA approval timeline depends on rate of recruitment, which will be far higher with US hospitals because they see 60,000 patients per annum. But even if it took 180 days (maximum) for FDA approval, the speed of ongoing results from US hospitals would keep shareholders happy in the meantime.

Humanitarian Organisation: Might not necessarily be waiting for FDA approval. It is true that doctors feel more comfortable with FDA approval. But for this purpose, which is field testing for pneumonia, it is just a screening tool that is much easier than a chest x-ray.

Hiring More Upper Management: Website shows greatly expanded management recently. Haven’t announced it because personnel announcements are just fluff. (But I looked at the website and wasn’t satisfied. I’d like to see more upper management dedicated to working on global regions or in some other way that speeds things up.)

Research Report Possible: Yes.

Takeover at $1: He gets asked this question a lot. He’d want higher, but it would be up to shareholders. After I said “Apple, for example, could see it as a new jewel in its crown, but they aren’t big on healthcare.” He quickly replied, “They have a whole massive division dedicated to healthcare.”
