0928 [Dow Jones] Australian Magnesium (ANM) confirms fears it failed to find
partner for troubled A$1.5 billion Stanwell plant project and has extended
trading halt as it has crisis talks with stakeholders such as government, 28%
shareholder Newmont and major contractor Leighton (LEI). Comes amid expectations
that unless stakeholders bail them out ANM will be forced into administration.
ANM expects to make statement on future by June 12. Failure of Stanwell would be
blow to LEI, which yesterday fell 6 cents to A$8.83. ANM shares halted Tuesday;
last traded 19 cents.(AND)
