I've held many mining stocks in the past where an announcement similar to today's generates early excitement only to find the day closes square or even slightly down. However, in my experience, the sp tends to trickle up over the ensuing days and weeks as the news filters to the wider market and new investors embrace the company story. I also suspect we saw buying last Friday in anticipation of today's announcement. Perhaps there was a little leak and some may have been in the know. Just speculating.
