    Hi Paul,
Do you mean BYR's 8/7/16 ANN Visible gold and sulphide mineralisation in Giro drilling-BYR.AX about Douze Match?

With the limited reported information and drill coverage on both plus no assays from Douze Match (DM) any comparison with Nyangboue (NY) is highly speculative.

[While such comparisons are interesting to do they are IMO basically academic exercises. Effectively like comparing an apple with an orange. Every mineral deposit is unique even if it does share some common features with others.]

Some 'facts' that can be gleaned from the announcements regarding DM and NY are:

Both drill programs targeted extensive gold in soil anomalies. Both soil anomalies have significant 50+ppb Au. The DM anomaly looks more patchy but has probably been dissected by drainages and is in a laterite profile. While at NY the anomaly appears more coherent and possibly reflects underlying trends.

First pass drilling at both is relatively shallow

Drilling extends below the saprolite/weathered zone at both.

Visible gold (VG) has been panned from drill chips at both. The panned gold at DM looks spectacular and IMO it would be surprising IMO if the assay for the 1m sample pictured isn't higher than those reported for NY.

At DM the VG is in two holes about 75m apart. Without assays......? No further comment.

The bulked average grade intersections for NY are enhanced by the individual high grade 1m samples. In BRC3 28m @ 4g/t Au can be recast as 3m of high grade and 25m at 1.2 (Saprolite hosted), while in BRC4 14m @ 5.5g/t becomes 2m of high grade and 12m at approx 3g/t in fresh rock. The continuity, structure, dip and other aspects of the mineralisation require more drilling.

[IMO it is important not to get carried away by high grade assays or VG at this early stage of a project. They are a good sign but need to be treated with caution.]

Assay results at NY are good in both the saprolite and fresh rock units. This augers well for depth potential.

The distribution of quartz at DM appears restricted to the saprolite zone. Whether this is an effect of weathering remains to be seen. However, if real, and gold is associated with quartz only, then the depth potential of mineralization may be limited.

The potential for shallow oxide resources at both DM and NY is IMO exciting. These first pass holes have encountered VG and, in the case of NY, broad intersections of mineable gold grades within extensive, coherent soil anomalies.

    Nyangboue is a 'virgin' discovery.

Douze Match has had previous mining done by the Belgians. The workings are not just small artisinal pits but have underground activity. Why the prospect was not developed beyond this would need more research but the lack of a significant mine could be a slight negative. Or a positive for BYR if they find a deposit and not much has been taken already.

Both DM and NY are in elephant gold mining country.

Both PDI and BRY IMO are tempting speculative shares which could both be multi baggers in the current bullish gold market if exploration success continues.

If you have to choose one. Some factors:

Cote d'I Vs DRC - sovereign risk, climate, geography etc
PDI's exploration tenements may be less developed than BYRs DYOR
Management, share structure, cash available etc etc etc

I have just reinvested in PDI after bailing out at 0.07 before. I over reacted to the post about Kokoumbo's first drill results (no obvious bedrock potential IMO) and sold forgetting PDI has multiple properties on the go and the Kokoumbo soil anomaly is large.

Composing this post has helped me gain perspective on Nyangboue as much as DM.
