Madam -that's 1 outcome you are looking at and you are making many assumptions about peoples circumstances that you have no idea about. How do you know what long termers have done with there stock holdings pre NASDAQ days.
Your assuming , and you know what they say about people who assume..?
Now unfortunately some I know (not professional analysts ..but mum & dads) have chopped and changed over the years (got out at 4/5 $ due to panic) to only get into stocks that lost more than MSBs value today ( double panic and double the problem..some even triple the problem..all because they let there emotions get the better of them..). There now stuck with their existing stocks and need to see it out .
Not the end of the road however and it will take them a long time to recover.
