Are you suggesting Mercedes and the likes would agree to buy sub standard lithium batteries?
Doubtful.
The demand for quality long life batteries will be customer driven, not just what he converters want to pump out...- and in turn would see brine sourced lithium not receiving the premiums of the higher quality spodumene sourced lithium.
You might find the brine batteries going into kids toys, and mobile phones. However applications like home energy storage and EV's I would bet that quality car brands ensure the supply chain of their lithium battery is sound.
