However the reality is that Teck is unlikely to commit on the basis of just a sniff of Cu. There has been a lot of discussion on this a while back particularly on the comments by Canadian analyst Cooke posted by @Haplo that Cooke's waiting to see if Teck buys in or leaves... but the reality is that Ag Au hasn't been Teck's core business. Are there any indications Teck is about to change tack? Haplo might repost that if he has the time and the inclination...

It's not impossible that Teck will do a buy in but I don't see it. In the past they want huge defined resources, to commit. AZS would need to have done a lot of deep drilling to find Cu, and Teck doesn't seem to have been requiring that. Are they interested in Ag Au? Not so far. We've got finds that will make us a small producer, but are they large enough to interest a big producer?
