Australia can help India in clean energy''

Highlighting the role of energy security in the Make in India initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Digital India and Skill India programs, union Coal, Power and New and Renewable Energy Minister Piyush Goyal on Tuesday said that Australia could help India with better technology.
“India is running the world’s largest renewable energy expansion programme and would welcome cost competitive supply of gas from Australia which will help run grid stabilizing gas plants which can support expansion of clean energy plants,” Goyal said while addressing the India- Australia Energy Dialogue in Brisbane.
“India is looking to have better, smarter, safer and more tech savvy systems which are affordable,” Goyal said.
Piyush Goyal held a meeting with the Queensland’s premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, minister for natural resources and mines Dr. Anthony Lynham, and minister for energy, biofuels and water supply in Brisbane Mark Bailey and invited them to visit India.
During the meeting, the Queensland’s premier said that they were willing to export what they were good at such as their expertise in mining.
Palaszczuk also spoke about the need for an energy mix, including the need to use different forms of energy, and take into account environmental concerns.
