The whole 45% savings thing has always irked me.

Consider these hypotheticals.. a nice simple example and you can scale it however you like.

    1x employee:

PSTN line $2 month DID/service fee. $2 month PABX licence. $500 worth of calls made over the year.

    = $48 p.a fixed costs. $500 p.a call cost.
    = $550 for the year.

Throw in a mobile and you are looking at another say $600 p.a. (low usage with modest call/txt inclusion).

So round numbers lets say $1000 a year for a desk phone (with modest usage) and mobile (with some calls inc) So yes, employee call costs do add up.

If you drop that by 40% though - you are left with a budget of $600 for the year. $50 for the month. With that money, the company expects to receive:

    1. Landline with the capacity to make the same amount of calls as previously.
    2. A mobile, with at least the same call inclusions etc as the scenario above.

If they can even offer this - and in some cases I'm sure the number stack up - in others, presumably not as take-up hasn't been huge... then that's great, for the company that is.

For NOR - Im not sure. .. the margin is so slim, whats left for them?

After you give all the saving back to the customer, they would need to sign many many organisations, with huge numbers of staff to make material profits imo. Thats where this appears to be a problem.

Just my observation and opinion. Maybe the quarterly will show us otherwise.

And also.. @brentv - you promised a Game of NOR'ns this Friday so I am expecting at least one more post from you
