I think the biggest problem with HC is the failure to harness and give direction to its one asset.That being the experience and intelligence of the group.
For this to happen certain poster's must initiate strategic discussion and this has all but disappeared on HC (With the exception of political and religious content.)
I myself now use HC only as a starting point for my spec portfolio and must admit my motivation to post is declining as my investment strategies are becoming less relevant to this particular forum.
To me the discipline of strategy is much more important than individual stock selection but in reading HC regularly I would not have a glue as to the strategies employed by HC's top posters.
