Stumbled across this last night. Austrian startup USound. It appears they are developing/have developed a piezoelectric MEMS speaker, initially for earbud/earphones. Timeline of demonstrating and releasing the product seems very similar to AKP. The article states they hold around 15 patents I think?
Would be interested to here others thoughts of how this compares to AKP.
