Surprised not to hear any talk of this:
The Australian did an article last week-ish speaking of rumours re: NST having eyes on buying out TAM.

No trading halt on TAM, as of yet however, ABU are also directly to the north of central Tanami project.
Everything released today was pre trading halt release, so I would guess its not related unless it's the specifics of the deal.
We will be kept guessing until Wed if not sooner.
