the 2D should give the first quantification of conventional potential, across the area that the 2D has covered, so not sure why some believe that nothing new can be expected :-(
i mean, the usual oil explorers for conventional oil; do 2D and come up with some prospective numbers for the acreage, then go and do 3D to fine-tune it for drill-spot and usually create bigger figures, then they go and drill it...
