Agreed, those arguments don't stand up.

Drilling Ooraminna is extremely expensive and stand-alone it's a stranded resource. It's only likely to have value when it's a bolt-on project to an existing network, which it what it is now that Dingo gas field is planned to be connected to the east coast.

When JH targeted it in 2010, it required a massive find with good quality reservoir to basically provide enough value to justify standalone development and connect it probably all the way to Moomba.

The situation now is very different and even a low-rate field could be economic to develop now that it only needs to connect to Dingo or Alice Springs. It's not that O-1 and O-2 did not find meaningful amounts of gas, they just didn't find meaningful flow rates.

There's no conspiracy here. It's just that Oooraminna wasn't really an attractive prospect until now. But now that RC has laid the groundwork to the point where any nearby discovery in the Amadeus can be bolted on to the CTP network, it's looking more attractive, particularly when combined with new technical work that might explain a) why the first two wells missed fractures and b) where the next well should be drilled to find them.
