Kids in primary and high schools have no chance.
Further, what humans learned over millennia (since stone age man started carving symbols/pictures and eventually evolved to writing and literacy), will be lost in 1-2 generations. Kids won't know how to use a pen/pencil.
How to reverse the trend? Demand that all schoolwork be handwritten...
...however, this will clearly not happen.
My belief is that losing the skill of writing (in combination with the alternative technology shortcuts) will result in a loss of many skills and possibly, ultimately a lowering of the average intelligence.
