I think I can answer your first question why the Chinese don't like the year of goat. Out of the 12 Chinese horoscope the most popular one is dragon. It's quite complicated as we don't want to get into the superstitious stuff. Pig, Rat, Horse are also considered good horoscope but goat isn't. The other reason is that the last dictator of Imperial China Queen Cixi was also born in the year of the goat and so did a lot of her high ranking officials who didn't do much good to the country.
