The world’s hydrogen and fuel cell community came together in Zaragoza, Spain, in June 2016, for the 21st World Hydrogen Energy Conference 2016 (WHEC 2016). The Spanish Hydrogen Association (AeH2) invited all stakeholders on hydrogen and fuel cells technologies and subjects relating to hydrogen production, storage, transport and end uses.

Wonder if we will be presenting at next year's WHEC?
The 2016 International Hydrogen Conference is scheduled for September 11-14, 2016 at the Jackson Lake Lodge in Moran, Wyoming. and will continue the trend of past meetings (held in 1973, 1975, 1980, 1989, 1994, 2002, 2008, and 2012), where hydrogen effects on mechanical properties of materials is a primary topic.

A Major Sponsor at both of these conferences is Toyota. Toyota, of course, developed the Mirai, one of the world's first hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.

The Mirai, unfortunately, has never been released in Australia as we do not have a hydrogen-refuelling infrastructure in place. The Electric Vehicle has also struggled to gain traction in Australia for exactly the same reason. This is now slowly changing due to the efforts of companies like the Locality Planning Energy (ASX: LPE). LPE is a Queensland based energy retailer authorised to sell electricity and utility services to residential, commercial and industrial customers throughout the National Electricity Market, and it's core offering is selling electricity to strata communities, providing significant savings for customers. LPE has thought outside the square, however, and is now ready to deploy it's first Electric Vehicle charging station utilising LPE’s embedded network infrastructure.
The Australian Government is too bogged down in the use of coal and petrol to drive a core change in the use of hydrogen, and we are going to need innovative companies like LPE to think outside the square and drive the use of Hydrogen moving forward.
P.S. I was first drawn to HZR by the quality postings of Holmesearth, Gapeseed, Accaeric and Marty386. Again, your postings are greatly appreciated, but I haven't sighted Accaeric here for awhile and would gladly welcome his return.
