I thought one of the most interesting lines from Theresa May's release was in the final sentence: "The government is committed to ensuring that local communities are fully involved in planning decisions that affect them: any shale applications – whether decided by councils or government – will continue to require a full consultation with local people."
Interesting to see her draw the line in the sand right from the beginning of her tenure. May seems to say "Nimbys will be heard, but at the end of the day, if you cannot get your act together to approve projects that do not violate local code, we'll make sure the work goes ahead." Maybe its my bias as a Lucas shareholder making me read into that statement, I don't know. Would be good to get the reaction of others on the board.
