Very Positive on the Short, page-33

Is it possible a lot is being read into just noise?  Eg if you plot PLS price vs say a gold miner (SLR) you get what appears to be strong correlation of up and down trends.  Are they both being driven by the action of shorters at the same time?  I am a total newbie here but I wonder if behind a lot of the (apparently) odd SP movement is not so much cool calculating strategy but simply the meanderings of the herd? (a herd that includes shorters, speculators and long term investers)  I personally think this is a long term stock that will pay off down the line, looking now for a rocket ship and wondering why no lift off is fine but perhaps leaves you open to the danger of seeing and reading into things, stuff that isn't really there.  Like I said though I am a newbie at this so feel free to criticise
