My apologies, I was hoping you would get back because I mixed you up with someone else, Bowral was addressing someone else and not you. So I need to think before I open my trap.
John Ch 17 clears up or explains exactly what the "I and the Father are one means".
In a nut shell 17 is, as we are in God and he in us (Holy Spirit), Christ and the Father are in each other in the "exact" same way and Christ asks the Father for this. So what it means is, via one Spirit (the Holy Spirit) we, including Christ) become one with the Father = One in Unity. Father and Son are one in Unity, = separate identities.
